Homework Policy

Key Stage 3
  • Your new homework timetable will be available in your planner, on PARS, the school newsletter and the school website.
  • Additional resources (worksheet, booklet, etc…) will be attached on PARS.
  • You will complete a booklet every half-term for English and Maths in order to improve your literacy and numeracy, in line with the new GCSE requirements. This will be issued in week 1 of each half-term.

Homework 1: week commencing the 7th of January

  • For other subjects, you will complete a project or booklet for the spring term following the timetable below:

Year 9

Homework will be issued weekly or fortnightly, reflecting on what you have learnt or what you need to learn for forthcoming lessons. You must record your homework in your planner.

• Homework will be recorded by your teacher on PARS.
Rewards

• Each piece of homework will be worth up to 5 smileys according to the quality and content completed.

• Homework award will take place during Friday assemblies every fortnight.
Sanctions

• Homework failed to be completed will lead to an automatic C2.

• A letter will be sent home by the Head of Department after two pieces of homework failed to be completed within the half-term.


Art & Technology homework will be following this model:

  • Art week: weeks 1 & 3 of each half-term
  • Food Tech: weeks 2 of each half-term

Deadlines

  • Booklets for English/ Maths will need to be completed for the second to last week of each half-term.
  • Projects/ booklets for other subjects will need to be completed within a four-week deadline.

Rewards

  • Each piece of homework will be worth up to 5 smileys according to the quality and content completed.
  • Homework rewards will take place during Friday assemblies every fortnight.

Sanctions

  • Homework failed to be completed will lead to an automatic C2.
  • A letter will be sent home if you have failed to complete several pieces of homework.
